  Shape memory alloy

  Ordinary metallic materials do not have shape memory. If they are sitting on an aluminum frame and bent permanently, they will not be able to recover their original shape. You have to try to adjust the frame at the back of your head. Even so, it is not possible to ensure that the frame is the same as before. And, if the frequency of bending back and forth is too high, the glass frame will always break to the fatigue limit.

  Shape memory alloys and ordinary metallic materials exhibit mainly different properties. They are strong and lightweight aluminum alloys with unique properties. They can be programmed to remember their original shape, so if they are bent or squeezed, they can be heated to return to their original shape again. This is called the shape memory effect. Some shape memory metals remember one shape when hot and another when cold, so they become one shape when cold, but when they get hot they forget their original shape and shrink into another. This is called the dual shape memory effect.

  Shape memory alloy is an aluminum alloy material with shape memory effect. The exhibit demonstrates the memory effect of a dual memory alloy, which takes one shape when heated and another when cooled. Throughout the deformation process, the change in austenite hot ductility is the direct cause of the memory effect. These materials have many excellent properties and are widely used in various industries such as aerospace, mechanical automation, biomedicine, bridge construction, automotive industry and daily life.
